This video project was a group documentary I helped make along with six other people in my class 'Nelson Mandela & the Anti-apartheid Movement' for our final project. The focus of it was to discuss topics of race relations and family, drawing on both our local interests and our knowledge gained about the anti-apartheid movement and the complex racial situation and history in South Africa. We decided to conduct a couple interviews to highlight a long pattern and issue in American society, specifically of incarceration in America and how it affects black families, focusing on the viewpoints of black women in these two interviews. This project came together in a little less than a month.
