A Study in Light is a project that looks at the manipulation of light through refraction, reflection as it relates to photography. Using techniques of long exposure and multiple exposure, the image is altered in an analog fashion, and creates a sense of puzzling serenity. The found objects used in each image are captured in high contrast, with no discernible background to give context. The weightlessness of the subject gives a feeling of it floating in blackness.
A Study in Light looks at the relationship we have with everyday objects. It invites us to see tools not only for their use, but also for their form and how they move through space.
