I volunteered at my local Washington state chapter of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network. Our mission was to engage people from all backgrounds in productive conversation, promoting organic learning and consideration of every human perspective. The Wordpress site contains a blog post from myself and a couple classmates connecting GLSEN's work to our cultural studies course's themes of under-representation and mass media consumption. I interviewed the chapter leader and several volunteers and we presented my findings and our research to our class.
