PSEL 9c: Manage Governance Processes and Internal and External Politics Introduction
The artifact was completed in ED 671 during the Fall semester of 2018. The assignment was designed to analyze how the state of Maryland has implemented the Every Student Succeeds Act. I was also tasked with including an analysis of what assumptions about education are made based on Maryland’s implementation of ESSA and what benefits and challenges could arise in Maryland Consolidated Plan in regard to ESSA.
PSEL 9c: Manage Governance Processes and Internal and External Politics Reflection
The assignment helped me to determine how the state of Maryland has implemented a federal law that directly impacts student learning. The assignment connects the newly created college and career ready standards to the law and it also provides insight into the annual accountability requirements states have to ensure that state-wide curricula is rigorous and engaging all students in learning. In addition, I was able to understand how the state of Maryland disaggregates data and how that data is reported to state and national agencies.
