During my time interning at Periscope, I have expanded on my current mixing and editing skills and learned new ones as well.
Through shadowing feature film mixes, I have seen many techniques that can be used to effectively and efficiently improve future mixes I have—namely effective equalization, effects, and monitoring workflows. While I have mixed many projects in the past, seeing professional mix sessions has helped me improve my own.
Occasionally, I have been tasked with editing production sounds for use in films. In Pro Tools, I will import production sound and cut to specific actions on picture. This has allowed me to expand my current abilities by adapting to professional studio workflows and deadlines.
I have also sat in on professional ADR sessions and seen how they operate. This has helped show me how to effectively run an ADR session and optimize a client’s time for my future projects.
