We all know creating a shared vision is important but PSEL Standard 1c. stresses the importance to review it throughout the year to drive instructional decisions. My artifact for this standard is a data protocol that I led two grade levels through September of 2019. After administering DIBELS data to their Kindergarten and First Grade students, I led them through the process of analyzing the data in order to make instructional decisions. Their school’s vision is “We believe all students need the opportunity to reach their full potential through high expectations and an appropriate challenging career path. We believe strategic planning, educational best practices, and data-driven decision-making are essential to improve student achievement.” In following PSEL Standard 1c. I supported the school community to develop a shared understanding of the commitment they have to their mission, vision, and core values.
