A Short Student Documentary that focuses on foreign exchange students living in Chicago, IL.

I learned a lot about how documentaries function and how to create mood and tone with sound. I learned how to layer sound to make sure that extraneous sound was kept to a minimum, especially with indoor sound recording.

I used a shotgun mic with a boom-pole. In order to knock down as much sound as possible I would make sure to angle the mic to either underboom or overboom the subject. The sound recording device we used on set was the 702 Sound Mixer.
